Just Cause 2

This requires a minimum operating system of windows Vista Rico Rodriguez is looking to start another revolution and he's not using the usual diplomatic channels. This time it's the fictional south pacific island of Panau that needs liberating, both from the dictator Baby Panay and Rico's ex-boss Tom Sheldon. A mix of Grand Theft Auto and Mercenaries, once you're parachuted onto Panau it's up to you how you complete your mission or whether you just set off exploring. However you play your most important piece of equipment is the new dual-grappling hook, which lets you latch onto enemies and vehicles and then attach them to something else. Watching a soldier shoot into the air when you snag him onto a plane or pulling the wheels off a car when you tether it to the ground is just the start,...

If you're looking for a quality free-roam adventure then this game is for you. The map is huge - and it's all ready for you to explore. At the beginning the controls may be unfamiliar and clumsy, but soon enough you'll adapt and be able destroying anything that stands in your way with the use of your grapple hook, a great selection of guns and tons of awesome vehicles.

The game isn't anything revolutionary or particularly original, but the use of the grapple hook helps to keep the game fresh and entertaining and stops the gameplay from getting too repetitive. You can use the grapple to tie enemies to vehicles, pull enemies off ledges, and many other things that you might come up with. It's definitely the grapple that makes this game stand out from other sand box games on the market.

One thing that is undoubtedly awful in this story. But this doesn't matter, you'll be having so much fun messing around or completing faction missions and races that you'll only be laughing when you hear the corny lines and the poor voice acting. The music is average I suppose - not that you'll be listening to it over the sound of gunfire and explosions!

In conclusion, if you're looking for a game to give you a great sense of achievement in the form of destruction then you'd certainly love Just Cause 2. Although the story itself is terrible, the missions are fun and varied - you'll end up fighting swarms of enemies, searching for collectables, blowing up petrol stations and monuments, and travelling in jeeps, boats, helicopters and aeroplanes to crash land in your next destination. If you're a 'completionist' like myself, it could take you a good 80 hours to fully explore the entire of the game.

I remember when I first played Just Cause, it was a huge piece land to play on with explosions (I like explosions) but there wasn't much to do, you did the main missions and took land for the rebels and that was really it, it was huge but really actually small.

But now we have the amazing creation which is Just Cause 2, while Just Cause was the ugly girl in class which had no brains and looked like she had been rolling in mud, Just Cause 2 is the sexy girl everyone wants (but still no brains). It is bigger, has more to do and BIG EXPLOSIONS, you'll spend your time blowing stuff up, collecting stuff and capturing places, It's fun.

The main missions are just hilariously over the top and can range from fighting ninjas to attacking fortress on the top of snowy mountains, if you don't like blowing things up then stay away from Just Cause 2, if you want a smart and well-written story than again stay away, but if you just want to make pretty explosions and tie people to your planes than get this game now.

Apart from explosions (you can see that's a key word for this game) there a items to be found which can upgrade your weaponry and vehicles, also you can do a variety of time-trial style races which are all pretty fun. The missions and objects are spread around the whole map pretty evenly and the emptiness from the first game seems miles away in some lost island.

The game is beautiful, a masterpiece, for the lack of brains the beauty sure does deliver. It really shows what the Xbox 360 is capable of as it ranges from the deep and heavily vegetated forests to the vast deserts. the explosions provide a lovely flame which engulfs your screen giving you a sense of satisfaction.

I loved this game and will play it for a long time from now, it is one of the best I've seen in a while. If you haven't decided yet I give you two words. Atomic Submarine.
