Dead Island Riptide
Dead Island Riptide (available for XBox 360 and PS3) resumes this explosive zombie fighting story from exactly where it finished at the end of Dead Island (from 2011). This action RPG survival horror story sees the four surviving heroes from the last game plus a new fifth character trying desperately to stay alive on yet another zombie infested tropical island, Palanai, another in the Banoi archipelago. They become shipwrecked there after a furious storm hits the military ship they thought would take them to safety. Terrifyingly the nightmare begins all over again as the virus takes hold demonstrating its now typical, deadly infectious pattern and immediately spreading throughout the ship's crew.
The storyline takes on a darker theme in this sequel though there is the trademark mix of open-world gameplay, co-op first-person action and RPG components. There are new environments including swamps and waterlogged areas in which players will use boats to get around plus players will find themselves having to deal with some tremendously inclement weather effects. There are new weapons, new zombie types and there is more emphasis placed on gun combat. There are several versions of this game including one for PC.
