In my opinion there aren't enough third person tactical shooters out there. But out of the few that are, this one is one of the very best. I first played this over at a friend's house and felt compelled to buy a copy for myself.

The game picks up with you being sent into Mexico to deal with rebels who are becoming a threat to US society.

You can be taken through training which is self explanatory and useful to new players. Also, unlike training on other games it is not tedious or boring.

The first mission is basically to get to a certain point, killing some rebels along the way. This may sound simple, but the extreme beauty of the gameplay will make you fall in love. To crouch you press l3 and to go into scope you press r3, these are two brilliant control ideas in my opinion, it feels so natural and easy and provides the game with a flowing and exciting gameplay. This is the same for all of the other controls. But one idea that really impressed me was the function of holding your breath in to aim more accurately. I thought this was very realistic and showed the tactical advantages and techniques of the army.

The guns are fantastic with a wide range and variety they can serve all different sorts of purposes. There are silent stealthy guns and there are huge rocket launchers. You can steal ammo from your enemies once they are dead and you become reliant on this soon enough. But the way you change guns is sometimes slow and feels as if it is interrupting the flow of gameplay.

The cover system is also excellent, an inspiration for Quantum of Solace's cover system. It is very realistic and flowing and you can perform a variety of moves to help stay in cover.

On the Xbox 360 version you get to control your squad, which can be very useful when you want to clear an area, but when you're fighting and you need to heal them, it can become tedious.

Overall this game is fantastic and you will adore it, go out and buy it today!

I was a little reluctant at first. I am very cynical with respect to most games, finding the hype always out-shines the actual game.

After working through the usual tedium of basic training and cut scenes, it was time to start taking out the bad guys.
Controls are very smooth which coupled with the very lenient learning curve, make for a very enjoyable game.

You can pretty much play as you decide.
Take the role of captain and let you men do all the work for you or go for glory and take out all of the bad guys yourself - which is quite satisfying and gives you some extra achievement points.

The graphics are a huge step-up from the first game although I can only base this on screenshots I have seen.
Where this game really shines is on the multiplayer front.
Playing over live is a hugely entertaining experience.
Team up with some friends, choose weapons, brush over any kind of strategy and then get to work.

There should be enough guns, explosives, machinery and carnage in this game to satisfy many gamers. Being able to start a level and chose your strategy is quite refreshing.
Slow, steady and methodical killings are just as satisfying as running at the enemy and firing wildly!
