Rocksmith

Rocksmith for XBox 360, PS3 and PC is an interesting new guitar playing game from Ubisoft; the first of its kind. Providing you have your own guitar and quarter inch jack, you can plug into your console and away you go. You will suddenly find you possess an amplifier, several effects pedals and much more so you will be able to fine tune the sound (reverb, wah, delays, tremolo, distortion etc) to your own requirements. The game adjusts to your own ability level so you can improve your guitar skills then practise as you play.

Beginners can start with single notes, progressing onto chords, bends and more advanced techniques. Songs may be broken down into arrangements so you can learn each one slowly bit by bit as you progress. You have the option of rehearsing your repertoire as much as you want, then as you gain more confidence you may decide you want to play a live gig. As you progress and improve you will get the chance to unlock more amps, new venues plus much more.

Choose from a wide range of songs from multiple musical genres and you will be playing your favourite track before you know it. The track-list is huge including some well-known classic greats (Bowie's Rebel Rebel, Lynyrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Good Enough and The Rolling Stones Satisfaction) and there is opportunity to download even more.

There are mini-games included which will allow you to concentrate on each individual skill and there is also a multiplayer mode.
