Skate 2

The solid skateboarding title, Skate 2, is certainly not for the week hearted; prepare for more than broken bones and bruises as you try to get to grips with the difficult challenges that lie ahead.

The original "Skate" arrived in 2007 and unlike the arcade style of Tony Hawk's games; it offered a truly realistic skateboard experience. Skate 2 does not disappoint in this department too, its picture presents in-depth graphics and in addition, extra upgrades, customization options and double the amount of tricks including the new, hand-plants, rail slides, easier hippie jumps, lip tricks, fingerflips and being able to skitch a ride on the bumper of a passing car. So, what's it all about?

Skate 2 is set five years after Skate, during the first game many earthquakes devastated the city, resulting in it being evacuated and ruined. In Skate 2, the main character returns to New San Vanelona and his/her objective is to help revitalise the skateboarding scene, which is on its last legs, by taking part in competitions and other events.

To earn valuable cash, you have to complete the challenges that the game throws at you and with this you can buy new clothes, property and boards. You can also roam the city looking for new curbs, ranks or obstacles to jump over, trying to avoid the masses of people and cars as you go.

This is an amazing game, with great control, but you better get practicing because it's no walk in the park!
