In a nutshell: There''s nothing worse than a cool idea that doesn''t quite work, but Mercury Meltdown Remix is perfectly aware of all the flaws of its predecessor and, in a break from tradition, sets about fixing every one of them. The lowdown: With most sequels, you''re lucky if they change the levels nowadays, let alone the gameplay, so it''s almost a shock to find a game which goes out of its way to address all the complaints people had with the first game. The basic idea is the same, you guide a blob of mercury around a maze by tilting the whole game world. Gone though are the boring grey levels of the original, these have been replaced by a neat cel-shaded art style. More importantly there''s now a proper difficultly curve, rather than the cliff of last time, and the game also finds time...
