Ang Lee's Hulk film lent a more thoughtful air to the recent flurry of Marvel Comics movie adaptations. The franchise could easily have become a rambunctious, SFX heavy romp, but the director chose a more psychological angle, probing the darkest recesses on Dr. Bruce Banner's mind for much of the film.
